Someone recently asked me what my passion in photography was. I've been in business for 10 years and I still have to think about that sometimes. THIS is my passion. Photographing children and parents as who they really are. Capturing moments and expressions that only come through when you are truly engaged in something. Parents see every face of a child. THAT'S what I want to capture. Smiles are frequent but to catch a child with delight or puzzlement or just awe, is a talent that I am proud to say I possess.  No flashes, no backgrounds, no extra baggage.  Just a little one, their family and a great location.  I always feel like I've just captured something that might only happen in this moment.  I always say with my own daughter that I wish I could somehow capture every little expression she makes to keep forever.  Not just the smiles but just the way she looks at things in life.  I can't really explain the feeling you get when you see the images after the fact.  I bring them back home and tears almost come to my eyes.  I cheer when I know I have that most intimate moment caught forever.  Ah, the triumph of knowing and the anticipation of showing the parents.  I get more excited than them I think.  Have I mentioned yet (in this entry) how much I love my job???
